BENEFITS

The most significant feature of CQL Canada’s approach to quality enhancement and review is its use of person and family centered approaches. Typically, quality is assessed based on whether organizational systems are in place. Examples include policies and procedures, staff ratios, job descriptions, staff training and governance structure.

CQL Canada offers organizations and systems:

  • a method of defining, measuring and evaluating quality from the person’s/family’s perspective;

  • confidence that Basic Assurances® are in place;

  • a method to assess the alignment between values and practices and work to close any gaps in the alignment;

  • a method to assess the responsiveness of services;

  • a collaborative approach to external measurement of quality; and

  • a partnership for ongoing support during the quality improvement process
