Foundational Training with CQL Canada

Agencies interested in accreditation with CQL Canada and who are new to our processes may find the following foundational training helpful in their journey towards accreditation with CQL Canada. 

 

 

SELF- assessment workshop USING THE PERSONAL OUTCOME MEASURES®

A four-day workshop that covers how to conduct the Personal Outcome Interview, synthesize interview data from people served, analyze findings, and identify organizational needs for change.

 

TOPICS COVERED:

·         Preparing for a Personal Outcome Interview

·         Listening to people

·         Gathering information from other sources

·         Making decisions about Personal Outcomes and Individualized Supports

·         Planning for quality improvement

 

FORMAT:

·         Small group, limited to 12 participants

·         Actual interview experience

·         Group decision making

·         Can be preceded by An Overview of Personal Outcomes

Direct Support Staff, Board Members, Executive Directors, Directors, Managers, Clinical Staff

Guided Self-Assessment Workshop for Basic Assurances® and Shared Values

 Basic Assurances® detail the essential, fundamental and non-negotiable requirements for all service and support providers and poses the question, “What are the important health, safety and human security issues for this person?”

 

Values drive organizational behaviours, and shared values shape organizational culture. We believe the Values are what cause organizations to move.

 

This three-day workshop is designed to support organizations to prepare for successful quality enhancement and planning activities by:

·         Assessing the organization's adherence to CQL Canada's Quality Measures® - Basic Assurances® and Shared Values,

·         Involving staff in the exploration and information gathering process for greater awareness of the organization's quality system; and to,

·         Support the organization in the development of a Quality Enhancement Plan that designates responsibility and accountability for performance improvement

 

FORMAT:

·         Limited to 25 - 40 participants

·         Overview of Quality Measures 2005®

·         Information gathering using targeted interviews, focus groups, examination of documentation and organizational data to gather information on the Basic Assurances® and Shared Values.

·         Conciliation, Prioritization and Planning

Through training, observation, coaching, and consultation, participants learn the methods for conducting reliable outcome interviews as well as the collection, analysis and synthesis of data gathered.

 

FORMAT:

·         Phase 1: Participation in a four-day Introductory Assessment Workshop

·         Phase 2: Observation of interviews conducted by CQL Canada staff

·         Phase 3: Preparation and coaching (practice interview)

·         Phase 4: Reliability assessment

·         Ongoing support from CQL Canada

·         Annual monitoring for re-certification
